The Language of Flowers

This years Belgravia in Bloom festival is set to see flourishing floral activities all across the streets of Mayfair and Belgravia, with a theme based upon ‘The Language of Flowers’. This years theme has delved into the secret meanings behind flowers and how they talk to us in their own beautiful forms of communication. Taking inspiration from the Victorian-era with a concept based upon hidden and secret messages sent through flowers, bouquets, potted plants, and wreaths, creating one of the most subtle and beautiful forms of communication.

There is set to be over 50 spectacular displays and installations alongside floral themed events in and around Belgravia this year which coincides with this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show and we can’t wait to see them all!

The Odd Chair Company’s Display

This year we decided to create our very own flower chair, which in hindsight was easier said than done! However all of the hard work paid off as we have created a flourishing showstopper for the showroom window. We had the help of Fletcher & Foley, a local florist who produced the fresh floral seat base and back of the chair using a mixture of beautiful gypsophilia, limonium and carnation flowers. We then got The Odd Chair Company team involved to add fresh moss in and around the wooden chair frame to give it it’s earthy structure as you can see below. After careful placement of the central floral piece, the chair was complete and looked fantastic!

Our Handmade Flower Chair

The Belgravia showroom window was transformed with the handmade flower chair taking pride of place and our hand teased eucalyptus edging the window nicely. We seemed to have attracted many visitors who have come to Belgravia as part of their trip to The Chelsea Flower Show, taking lots of photographs as they pass.
