A very early 17th Century Mahogany Italian Cassoon with later additions to the internal floor of the Cassoon given it has been used as a log store. There is a new base within the piece that has been polished to match the original sides.
Finished with a clear wax finish to the Mahogany, wonderful patina and carved detail depicting female figures with moulded surrounds. Please note that the original lid has long since been removed from this piece hence why it has been used as an open top log store. We would be happy to quote to add an upholstered top to create a long ottoman or fabricate a metal liner for use as an indoor planter.
