A Vision Brought to Life
The journey to MINET’S creation began with an undeniable spark of inspiration from a French Antique market where the original chair sat. Lauren, a design maven whose work seamlessly blends timeless style with a contemporary twist, sought to create a piece that was more than just functional—it had to be a statement. “I wanted to craft something that resonates with French design. A chair that feels both luxurious yet simple, where every detail was carefully considered, every curve deliberate, and every inch of the chair designed for true comfort,” Lauren shares.
At The Odd Chair Co, we’ve always believed in pushing boundaries, and partnering with Lauren was the perfect match for us. Together, we set out to create something that defied traditional chair designs—something that could transport you to the golden age of French Deco, but with a modern sensibility that spoke to today’s design enthusiasts.

The Minet chair takes inspiration from the grandeur of French Deco—an era where opulence met modernity, and design became a way of life. The sleek lines, bold geometry, and intricate detailing are all reminiscent of the iconic Parisian design language. But Lauren’s modern take on the era ensures that the MINET chair feels fresh, forward-thinking, and wholly original.
The chair features a subtle yet striking silhouette: angular arms that curve effortlessly into the body of the piece, paired with a high, sculpted backrest that offers the perfect support. The upholstery is a luxurious corduroy fabric, meticulously chosen to evoke the richness of the Deco period, yet soft to the touch, inviting you to sink in and relax. The base, handcrafted from solid walnut, provides both strength and elegance—ensuring that MINET stands the test of time.
